Story Behind the Drawing

Inspired by traditional stories and images of “The Frog King,” this drawing focuses on the relationship between nature, the passing of time, and the eventual reclaiming of human-created things by nature and animals. The frog sits on a throne of books and has reasserted his authority over nature. (But also, the frog sitting on the stack of books is very storybook-ish!)
