Story Behind the Drawing

The Goldfinch is the third drawing in my bird series. These drawings focus on different bird species and the mood that each bird inspires. Goldfinches are lighthearted summer birds that enjoy flying. To me, they also have a royal connotation due to their namesake and coloring. In this piece, the Goldfinch hangs flowers from a royal Rococo frame, with a castle and valley in the background.
