Story Behind the Drawing
If you visit the coastal town of Cumberland, Maine, you may stumble upon a herd of Nigerian Dwarf Goats who live at Sunflower Farm Creamery, a dairy farm known for its delicious homemade cheeses and desserts. The goats at Sunflower Farm enjoy a happy life full of jumping, grazing, milking, and yoga. (Yes, these goats know how to throw a party!) Each goat is a special member of the Herd Family, and when it is time for a goat to retire from the daily tasks of running a farm (because they do, indeed, run the farm), he or she is gifted with a bell to wear around their neck. The bell reminds them that they will always be family — past, present, and future — though I suspect the older goats enjoy showing off their new jewelry to the younger kids, too!
